I can dish out words like polyphenol, glutathione and epigallocatechin gallate all I like – and no, not one of the above terms translates to a dirty ‘come hither’ invitation – but that doesn’t mean you will have the same euphoric experience with them as I.
Just because a banana is supposed to be bowel-cleansing, doesn’t mean it will sweep your insides clean. Likewise, just because every Tom, Dick and Harry has chosen to ditch gluten’s gluteals, this doesn’t mean that a lovingly-baked slice of organic sourdough spelt bread is going to catapult you into a state of autoimmunity.
I give you modern science because the world is currently obsessed with evidence based knowledge and it can be fun to memorise the benefits of the foods that love you back. That said …
