You know when you hardly know someone, yet get the vibe that they are a ‘good egg’? That’s Megan. We met at the 2015 Wellness Summit and even though we only spoke a few brief times, I was overwhelmed by Megan’s genuine warmth and humble glow.

When you care so much it hurts (everyone)
Are you a passionate person?
- Excitable?
- Caring?
- Well-meaning?
- Kind of crazy at times?
- And are bloody proud of these qualities?
- I sure am!
Let’s Support Pete
Howdy friend. You’ve stumbled across an old article. I believe in real food and support anyone – celebrity or otherwise – in their advocacy of nutritional medicine. This doesn’t mean that I support all of the views they express on their own platforms.
My friend Kim recently brought up something that I’ve been thinking about for a while now. Chef Pete Evans is under constant scrutiny from the media. Labelled as ‘arrogant’, ‘extreme’, ‘un-educated’ and some go as far as to say, ‘dangerous’.
While I’ve been away
It’s been a busy, busy August! Semseter 2 has started at College (and lecture content is a wee bit complicated thus far), I volunteered at The Wellness Summit and (most importantly) I travelled up to the Sunny Coast for my Twenty8 Health and Lifestyle Educator Program Graduation!!!!!!!!! That’s too many exclamation marks, isn’t it?
Spectacular Soul Saturday: Kimi Hill
This week I’d like to share the insights of blogger Kimi Hill, author of www.sunandmoon.me. I don’t know Kimi personally, but she approached me after hearing my interview on Up for a Chat and asked me to do an interview for her website.
I decided to return the interview favour and here we are. Kimi is a driven young lady with a beautifully sensitive and creative streak.
Meet Kimi …
Health isn’t a “trend”
Does it bother anyone else out there that health, wellness, well-being, nutrition, mindfulness, Paleo, vegan, GAPS, gluten-free, sugar-free, (and all the other common buzz words etc.) have become a trend? Or is it just me?
Don’t get me wrong. The real food movement is exciting! People getting excited about fruits and veggies is encouraging! The public is starting to explore and ask questions. I am thrilled about this! In fact, health being ‘trendy’ has many, many advantages.
Rebecca’s broth
Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be cooked a delicious GAPS friendly meal by my friend Rebecca. She did a slow cooked beef roast with steamed veggies (cauliflower, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans) and roasted baby dutch carrots and butternut pumpkin. It was so special to be able to go somewhere for dinner and not have to take my own food. Thanks girl, I really appreciate it.
I Finally Made My Own Sauerkraut!
I’ve finally mustered up the confidence to make my own sauerkraut! I’ve heard scary things about fermenting your own cabbage – mainly that it can go very, very wrong and go off and smell all kinds of awful (like after your dad’s been to the bathroom – yep that kind of awful). But I figured if I can ferment my own cream then I can surely ferment some cabbage and I’ll never know until I try, right?
Thai green chicken soup
This soup is seriously good and a nice break from the regular appearances of pumpkin and cauliflower soup that tend to share the starring role in my kitchen. My mum (a non GAPS taste-tester I might add) had several soup-gasms whilst devouring this creamy bowl of yumminess.
