This week I’d like to share the insights of blogger Kimi Hill, author of www.sunandmoon.me. I don’t know Kimi personally, but she approached me after hearing my interview on Up for a Chat and asked me to do an interview for her website.
I decided to return the interview favour and here we are. Kimi is a driven young lady with a beautifully sensitive and creative streak.

Does it bother anyone else out there that health, wellness, well-being, nutrition, mindfulness, Paleo, vegan, GAPS, gluten-free, sugar-free, (and all the other common buzz words etc.) have become a trend? Or is it just me?
Don’t get me wrong. The real food movement is exciting! People getting excited about fruits and veggies is encouraging! The public is starting to explore and ask questions. I am thrilled about this! In fact, health being ‘trendy’ has many, many advantages.
Meet my honorary ‘big sis’ Simo! A ray of sunshine who lives according to my favourite proverb;

Meet Simo …
I was recently asked this question by someone I really admire. She asked me what made the difference between the way I approach life and the way a lot of other people my age approach it. She wasn’t asking in a way that put me on a pedestal (thank goodness because that would be mis-leading … I really am just the ‘girl next door’), but rather curious about why I am pro-active when it comes to my health and education. How do I know what I know at my age? Why am I empowered rather than playing the victim? Why do I question things? How is it that I am so content in being different when most teenagers just want to ‘fit in’?
It warmed my heart when a reader commented on Facebook that her “miss 10” enjoyed my interview with my friend Jo on ‘A Quirky Journey’. It was also very exciting when another reader mentioned that she can’t wait to make my pumpkin pancakes and GAPS muffins for her little ones. This is why I started blogging in the first place.
This cake was a result of being in year 12, studying hard and getting to the end of the day and needing a big bowl of chocolate cake all to myself that I could chip away at whilst indulgently watching a few episodes 7th Heaven. Don’t even judge me!
Oh hello there. You’ve found some very old content. Please read the disclaimer on this page before thinking I’m still a total sheep who has been sucked into a bone-broth worshipping fad diet. Been there, learned from that and am now a much less rigid human.
It’s been ages since I’ve done a GAPS update. I figured one was well overdue! I am up to stage 4 and have been since March 15.
I’m yet to introduce raw veggies and fruit. My body still freaks out if I so much as have too much fibre in the form of avocado, fermented veggies and cooked veggies so I don’t feel ready to introduce raw veggies yet. Thank goodness it’s winter and not really salad weather anyhow.
Why are we terrible at taking compliments? Quick to dismiss the good we do? Feel like we can’t show pride? Downplay praise? And why, dear ones, do we think we need to be modest, humble and quiet achievers, all in the name of not being ‘up ourselves’?
